What should a candidate verify before practising?

Two-part objective paper

The 2026 Stage I paper contains 20 single-correct Part A items and 20 true-or-false Part B items.

Negative marking differs by part

Part A uses +2/−1/0. Part B uses +2/−2/0, so an unsupported Part B guess has a materially different downside.

Programme boundary matters

The official instructions state that the TIFR CAM Integrated PhD route is evaluated on Part A only; other covered mathematics routes answer both parts.

Stage I is not the separate CAM PhD paper

Candidates should not merge this GS Mathematics Stage I paper with the separately identified CAM Mathematics PhD examination.

Why GS 2026 appears with a 2025 test date

GS-2026 identifies the admission cycle. TIFR's central advertisement scheduled the examination for 14 December 2025. The product page records a conflicting School of Mathematics date separately and uses the central schedule for metadata.
